Kano DMCSA Strategizes to Improve Family Health

Focusing mainly on accessibility of commodities and the provision of high-quality care, the strategies would help in ensuring that the clients have consistent and reliable access to reproductive health services, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes for women and families. Kano DMCSA Pay Off N800m Out of N1.17b inherited Debt

By Farouk Isa Musa   In less than two years, the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) has successfully paid the sum of N800 million (or 70 percent of the) debt it owed pharmaceutical companies and other drug suppliers from 2019 to early 2023. The funds paid were part of N1.17 billion debt, which the DMCSA inherited from the former administration. Pharm. Gali Sule, the Director-General of the Agency, disclosed this when he received the executive members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Dakata Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area. Shading more light, the Director-General said when he assumed office in July 2023, he found the Agency heavily indebted to the tune of over N1.1 billion, adding that if all the stocks at stores were sold off and combine with the funds at the Agency’s bank accounts, the DMCSA would still be owing suppliers some N102 million (as negative balance). Drug Availability at Kano Health Facilities Jumps From 30% to 90%

By Farouk Isa Musa   The Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) reports a significant boost in drug availability at government facilities, raising from 30 percent to 90 percent. Director- General of the Agency, Pharm. Gali Sule disclosed this on Thursday when executive members of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Dakata Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area paid him a courtin Kano. According to him, “years ago, if 10 drugs were prescribed to patient, they would only get three, now, patient can at least get nine out of 10.” he said Sule attributed this progress to the state government’s dedication to revitalising the health sector and improving the overall welfare of kano residents. The event is a remarkable student reunion of all former students of science secondary schools in the state. Gali Sule, the Director-General of Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency, has met with the executives of Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), who paid him an advocacy visit in his office, Wednesday. The meeting was part of a series of engagements with relevant stakeholders, including the nongovernmental organizations undertaken by the DMCSA with a view to collaborate and properly utilize their expertise.
