During the visit, Pharm. Gali Sule, the Director-General of Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency and Chairman of the Committee, consoled with the bereaved families over the loss of their loved ones. In the tragedy, five people were reportedly died, and 13 others were severely injured when a truck rammed into a procession of Christian faithful celebrating Easter on Monday 21st April in Billiri town. The last-mile delivery for family planning commodities is a strategic initiative aimed at integrating the family planning supplies with the Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) scheme, whereby the state-owned health facilities will receive their supplies from the DMCSA warehouses free of charge.. By Farouk Isa Musa  As part of its continued monthly intervention, Kano State Hospital Management Board is set to distribute antisickling drug, Cesarean section items, and delivery kits to health facilities across the state. The items to be distributed, according to Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, the Executive Secretary of the Board, includes 500 Cesarean section (CS) packs, 6000 delivery packs, and 55 million naira worth hydroxyurea to sickle cell disease patients. This intervention, however, signifies the commitment of the Kano State government to generally improve healthcare access by supporting maternal and other healthcare services and reduce mortality rates in the state.
