Dr. Labaran Eulogizes Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf for Hospitals Renovation, Upgrade

The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf has lauded Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for renovating and upgrading various health facilities at both primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

The commissioner made the commendation in an exclusive chat with the head of public relations unit of the ministry, Ibrahim Abdullahi, and made available to media outfits, Monday.

Dr. Labaran explained that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has made series of promises on healthcare during his electioneering campaign, part of which is the provision of general hospitals in LGAs that have not and functional primary health facility in every political ward across the 44 LGAs in Kano.

As a result, the commissioner went further to aver, some health facilities are being upgraded to general hospitals in an effort to fulfilling the promises so as to provide ease to the people especially with regards to their health.

Dr. Labaran asserted that it is discouraging nowadays that a person be transported from far and distanced LGA of more than 100km to access care somewhere else, adding that the hope of the government is to provide each LGA with a general hospital and qualified staff to handle any type of ailment.

He then called on the people to always rally the government in its quests to repositioning the state health sector and ensure ownership of the projects by making sure the structures are not vandalized and equipments not stolen by miscreants.

The commissioner advised people laways bear in minds that doctors and other health workers are humans like everybody who can do good and sometimes err as a result of practicing their standard of operations, they should therefore be allowed to carry out their official responsibilities based on the rules and regulations as specified by their profession.

On the other hand, Dr. Labaran cautioned health workers to shun harassing and meting inhumane treatments against the people coming to health facility for medical attention, stressing that the administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf would not condone such kind of attitudes.
