HMB Cautions Against Interference in Staff Postings Across State Hospitals.
By Samira Suleiman
The attention of the general public and all concerned stakeholders is drawn to the need to refrain from interference in the posting and deployment of clinical and non-clinical staff under the Kano State Hospitals Management Board (HMB).
The process of posting and redeployment of staff across various hospitals is strictly guided by service requirements, equity in personnel distribution, and the need to ensure uninterrupted delivery of quality healthcare services in all state-owned secondary health facilities. These decisions are not influenced by sentiment, personal interest, or favoritism, but rather by the professional assessment of manpower needs in different hospitals.
It is important to emphasize that the provision of effective medical services depends on the availability of skilled and motivated personnel including doctors, nurses, midwives, laboratory scientists, pharmacists, and administrative support staff across all general and cottage hospitals in the state. Hence, equitable posting ensures that no facility is understaffed or overstaffed, and that every community has access to standard, timely healthcare delivery and specialized health personnel where necessary.
Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State, the government is working round the clock to revive all healthcare facilities and restore them to their lost glory. This includes ongoing reforms, infrastructural rehabilitation, supply of essential equipment, and strategic deployment of health professionals to enhance service coverage and improve patient outcomes.
The Hospitals Management Board, therefore, seeks the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders including staff, community leaders, and the general public in supporting this coordinated effort towards achieving a balanced, efficient, and sustainable health system in Kano State.
